April 2008

The new national bus passes are now operational (hope you’ve got yours) and there are already two people who have started on a journey from Berwick to Lands End. Manju Ghosh, from Bolton, and Christine Jackson, from Sheffield, have received some local publicity for their adventure they started on April 1st. However we believe that they are not travelling back by bus and they estimate their journey will take 12 days as they are staying with friends en-route. There is therefore plenty of opportunity for others to improve on the journey length and time, particularly if you are making a return trip.

Bolton News, which carried an article on the Bus Pass Challenge, also included a report of a stolen bus. It has been suggested that the two were linked and that someone was taking the Bus Pass Challenge a bit too seriously.

And They’re Off
