Yes.

When does the challenge start and finish?

The challenge will operate from April 1st to October 31st 2008.

Yes.  Please complete an entry form for each trip. You will then be eligible for the Carbon Footprint Hero award.

If I make lots of local trips by bus, will this count?

Although the use of public transport is to be encouraged, the aim of the Bus Pass Challenge is to recognise attempts to cross a number of local authority boundaries in England by bus.

Can you tell me more about the awards?

•  ‘You’ve Come So Far’ Award:

This will be awarded to the person who covers the greatest distance by bus. e.g. Liverpool to Land’s End. This may take several days with overnight stops en route. It will involve travelling on a number of buses across several local authority boundaries. In the event of two people completing the same journey, the winner will be the one completed in the shortest time.

•  ‘Travel For Charity’ Award:

This will be awarded to a person who undertakes the Bus Pass Challenge in order to raise money for a registered charity. The award will be given to the one who raises the most money.

•  ‘Carbon Footprint Hero’ Award:

This will be awarded to the person who completes the highest number of long distance bus journeys between April 1st and October 31st. To be eligible for this award you will need to submit an entry form for each trip.

If I wish to raise money for charity can I use the Bus Pass Challenge logo?

Yes, you have permission to reproduce the logo on a personal sponsorship form.

Will my trip details be published on the web site?

We want others to be aware of the benefits of using the national bus pass. By completing an entry form you are giving consent to have your trip details published on this web site.

Will my name and email address be passed onto anyone else?

Your name and email will not be passed on to anyone unrelated to the Bus Pass Challenge or You Did It Ltd, who are the sponsors of the awards.

When will the awards be announced?
